Toyota G16E-GTS Engine Scan

We scanned this G16E-GTS engine from a GR Yaris and extracted all of the geometry required to design a long list of bolt on components for a very serious rally car build.
All the mounting faces, mating flange profiles and bolt hole positional data, and intake/exhaust runner surfaces inside the head were extracted and exported out for the customer to import into their CAD package.

Sea Fin Boat Scan

We scanned this 20m aluminum hull vessel to assist the design phase of a major refit and modification. For this scan we used Creaform’s MaxSHOT Elite to capture the target model to ensure excellent global accuracy. When then scanned the entire exterior of the hull with the MetraSCAN Black Elite.

Holden 202 Engine Block Scan

We were asked to design this engine block to achieve an increase in rigidity. In an attempt to reach desired power output, it was suspected that the factory cast iron engine block was twisting under load, causing the head away from the deck surface. The factory engine block was laser scanned to extract all functional geometry. This data was then exported directly out from Creaforms VXmodel software over Solidworks for the modelling of the new wet liner style billet aluminium design. The new block was to be manufactured from a high grade aluminium. Stress analysis was performed on the CAD model of the block to verify a satisfactory increase in rigidity, and the CAD model was sent off for CNC machining. The engine was assembled and run up on the dyno to perform as expected and achieved the power the customer was chasing without any issues.

RX8 Rear Scan

This was a simple scan and model for a suspension retrofit project. All of the suspension components were scanned, cleaned & aligned, then reverse engineered into CAD. The clean CAD models were then assembled for fitment into the scanned car body.
